Lake Texoma State Park

Lake Texoma State Park is a massive state park that sits on the Oklahoma side of the lake. Unlike Eisenhower State Park on the other side of the lake, Lake Texoma State Park appears to be somewhat in disrepair. There is a section of old cabins that are run down and abandoned. Some of the boat ramps appear to be torn up as well.

On the positive side of things, there is plenty of RV camping available inside Lake Texoma State Park. We did not see any tent camping although it is possible there is some. There is a nice swim beach area, some very nice picnic areas, and some pavilions.

After some brief research, it sounds like this state park was sold to a group of investors in 2005 as place for development. Not only has it gone undeveloped, it is lacking in normal maintenance and upkeep.

Amenities of the park include:

  • Campsites
  • Concessions
  • Dump Station
  • Elec. 30 Amp
  • Elec. 50 Amp
  • Full Hookups
  • Gift Shop
  • Grills
  • Boat ramps
  • Marina
  • Picnic Area
  • Pull Thru Sites
  • Restrooms
  • Showers
  • Swim Beach
  • Water Hookup
  • Waterfront Sites
  • Canoe rentals
  • Boat rentals

There are some nice, worthwhile views here so it is worth stopping through and taking a look around. If maintained a bit better, this park could be one of the most beautiful on the lake.
